Sidhu
Navjot Singh Sidhu, Congress leader and Punjab Minister of Tourism was in the headlines again! However, this time, it is not for his speeches, or passionate fiery remarks against the Bharatiya Janata Party, and specially Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A woman was arrested for allegedly attempting to throw her footwear at the former cricketer during a public meeting in the Rohtak District of Haryana.

In a video if the incident which was circulated on social media, the woman was seen telling the police that “Sidhu spoke against Modi”, which resulted in her throwing the slipper.

Sidhu had earlier created headlines when he said that “those who question the Prime Minister are considered anti-national. The government has made the Loktantra a Gundatantra”. The Punjab Minister of Tourism had also once quoted Modi’s popular election slogan ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’, and said that though all the “citizens had provided saath to the government”, only “industrialists like Ambani and Adani had any Vikas”. He wondered “who the chowkidar was, when Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya fled the country”.

The former television personality had been issued a show cause notice by the Election Commission twice in one month, for violating the Model Code of Conduct, which is in force since March 10, when the election schedule was announced.
