Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, at a rally in Delhi, slammed Congress General Secretary of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, for “teaching abuses to innocent children of Amethi”, and said that she “should have kept the dignity of Indian women in mind”. He further said that Vadra, whose mother, UPA chairperson and former Congress President Sonia Gandhi hails from Italy, must “go teach these abuses in Italy”.
The Hindu nationalist took a swipe at the ruling party in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party, and that the party “has converted Delhi into potholes”. He slammed AAP founder and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for always sitting on a protest whenever a development scheme comes. The UP CM said it is difficult to understand whether he is a “mukhya mantri” or “dharna matri”.
Adityanath also launched an attack on AAP for its coalition talks with Congress for the ongoing Lok Sabha polls. He said, “AAP emerged against the corruption of the Congress but now they are restless to contest elections with them. In a democracy, if politics is done without principles then it is dangerous for the society and the country”.
Campaigning for BJP candidate from East Delhi former cricketer Gautam Gambhir and party candidate from West Delhi, sitting MP Parvesh Singh Verma, the UP CM and former monk said that the saffron party has not discriminated among the people when implementing schemes. He also added that the Prime Minister has “done work for poor without any discrimination”, and hence the “BJP should get votes on development, security and good administration”.
All seven seats of Delhi will go to polls on May 12, in the sixth phase of the ongoing 17th Lok Sabha elections. Counting of votes will take place on May 23.
