Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a rally on Sunday, admitted that the Indian Air Force lacked Rafale jets in their custody. He also went on to slam the Indian National Congress over accusing the government for the Rafale jet deal.
In an instant reply to the PM's accusation, President of the Congress, Rahul Gandhi, tweeted that Narendra Modi “stole 30,000 crore rupees” and gave it to his “friend, Anil.” He also want to charge Modi for being “responsible” for delaying the Rafale jet deal, and how brave soldiers like Wing Commander Abhinandan are “laying down their lives” and paying the price for negligence of the Prime Minister.
This whole ordeal has been preceded by what the Bharatiya Janata Party claims is the “Airstrike Politics”, with multiple parties of the opposition, including Congress National secretary Digvijay Singh asking “for proof of the Airstrike”. Modi, in his rally, also condemned the opposition for politicisation of the airstrike, and reminded the public how the Congress has asked for proof of not only the airstrike, but also the Surgical Strike, conducted by India in 2016.
