Nationalist Congress Party is said to join hands with the Raj Thackrey’s party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). NCP chief Sharad Pawar is likely to form an alliance with the MNS for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019.

Reports say that the MNS supreme Raj Thackrey has demanded three seats in Maharashtra. Thackrey calls for Mumbai, Thane, and (Dindori) Nashik region. The NCP and MNS are seen to be improving their relations with each other ahead Lok Sabha General elections 2019. According to sources NCP is ready to give two and not three seats at the moment as the other alliance partner. Congress party may want to keep a seat aside for any other party that might want to join the alliance.  Reports confirm that if the NCP and MNS settle on this seat sharing, BJP will have one more opposition alliance to stand against them.

The seats asked by the MNS are already in the names of BJP leaders. The North East Mumbai’s sitting MP is Kirit Somaiya and the Nashik region has Harish Chandra Chavan both from BJP. Rajan Vichare, Shiv Sena member is the sitting MP in Thane. Reports say that one of the reasons NCP may not agree on the seat sharing is MNS’s disappointing performances in the previous elections.
