At a rally in Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence of winning the assembly elections in the state, as well as achieving majority in the general elections in the state, both of which are to be held simultaneously in four phases.
Modi offered the people two choices, of either choosing a corrupt unprincipled government, or an honest and principled one “committed to the development of all”.
He went on to attack the incumbent ruling BJD party of “having wrong intentions”.
Remembering the Emergency in 1975, the PM claimed that his party had always fought for the upliftment and safeguarding of democracy, even after lakhs of its workers were jailed for the protests.
He further added that the BJP will ensure “national security and speedy development of the country”, which can be brought about only by a strong and decisive central government.
