Actor turned politician Kamal Haasan on Wednesday denied to contest with the Congress party for the coming Lok Sabha elections 2019. The actor ruled out an alliance with Congress and said that he will fight the elections alone and do not need any support.

“Makkal Needhi Miam (MNM)will contest the Lok Sabha elections 2019 alone and the party will not form any alliance with the Congress” said Haasan. Rumors about him joining Congress started when he said in a speech” I am very sure my color is not saffron.” Haasan introduced his party Makkal Needhi Miam which translates to “People’s Justice Centre” at a public meeting in Madurai earlier in February this year. He had also unveiled the party flag.

Kamal announced in December last year that his party will contest the General elections 2019 and now he showed up with the announcement that MNM will be contesting the elections alone. Haasan in an interview also said that he would like to align with other parties but will never seek for help from any party which disrupts the governance of Tamil Nadu.

Kamal Haasan rejected to align with Congress and contest the elections alone.
