The actor turned-legislator said it was too soon to choose whether he would bolster the Congress in the 2019 General Elections.

Performing artist turned-government official Kamal Haasan met Congress leader Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi on Thursday and talked about the political circumstance in Tamil Nadu, PTI revealed. Haasan propelled his political party Makkal Needhi Maiam in February.

"It is too soon to choose," Haasan said when asked whether he would bolster the Congress in its push to get Opposition parties together to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Haasan had met Congress President Rahul Gandhi and had comparable exchanges on Wednesday. He had additionally met Election Commission authorities in New Delhi to enlist his political party.

Not long ago, Haasan had met Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy in Bengaluru to examine the sharing of Cauvery stream water between their two states.
