IPFT To Go Solo In 2019 Lok Sabha Election

The Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) and its senior organization together accomplice BJP will challenge one year from now's Lok Sabha poll independently, the parties said.

While IPFT said it was "constrained" to take the choice after BJP's one-sided naming of pioneers for the two Tripura Lok Sabha seats, the BJP has asserted that its cooperation with IPFT in the current year's assembly election as one-off.

The IPFT and the BJP met up without precedent for January this year in a pre-survey cooperation to unseat the Left Front following 25 years.

Contrasts host sprung up between the two parties on various issues including the CBI booking three IPFT pioneers, including an official, for the executing of a writer a year ago.

As per IPFT, the BJP did not counsel it while shaping two boards as of late and putting pioneers at their steerage to care for the survey arrangements for the two Lok Sabha seats - East Tripura (ST hold) and West Tripura.

He included that the BJP has named state Law serve Ratan Lal Nath and general secretary Rajeev Bhattacharya as in-charges of East Tripura Lok Sabha voting demographic, while state Health Minister Sudip Roy Barman and gathering general secretary Pratima Bhowmik were placed accountable for the West Tripura parliament situate.

"We were intrigued to chat on the issue. However, they (BJP) have put their party pioneers accountable for both Lok Sabha seats without talking about with us. We were compelled to make this stride and challenge alone," the IPFT pioneer said.

The IPFT has a critical nearness in both East Tripura (ST hold) and West Tripura Lok Sabha seats, which are right now held by the CPI(M).
