Deve Gowda JD(S) Lok Sabha Elections 2019

JD(S) supremo and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda showed confidence that regional parties will join hands with the Congress in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections to defeat the BJP.

The former PM said while addressing a joint press conference with former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and other Congress leaders in the city, seat-sharing may be successful in some states and failure in others, but that doesn’t mean the coalition has broken down.

“All regional parties will come together to ensure that the BJP does not come back to power after the 2019 elections. In Karnataka, we have taken the lead and joined hands. If we win all the five seats, it is going to have a major impact and give new dimension and direction ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls,” JD(S) supremo said.

Gowda attack BJP for creating communal issues ahead of polls, he said the main aim of the BJP is to divide and rule, and there is a need to save the secular system in the country. Though the Congress and JD(S) have come together to defeat the BJP, they will maintain their own identity, he added.

“The Congress and JD(S) workers will work together to defeat the BJP in the bypolls.  If need be, we will even campaign together to defeat the BJP, which is our common enemy,” said Siddaramaiah.

If what the former PM is saying will become the reality in upcoming general elections BJP will have a hard time in polls.
