Social activist and Patidar leader Hardik Patel is about to contest for Lok Sabha elections 2019. Hardik Patel on Wednesday announced in a rally in Lucknow that he will contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019.

Hardik was not able to contest for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and in 2017 he stated that now he is ready to contest the elections for the lower house. Hardik, however, did not announce the name of the seat from where he will contest the election but sources claim that the popular Patidar leader would contest either from Amreli or Mehsana - both in Gujarat.

Joining politics for Hardik would not be so hard as the Congress has already supported him earlier and he will still gain the party’s support. Political experts remarked that Amreli will be a safer seat for Hardik because the Congress had won all five seats in this constituency in 2017 Assembly polls in Gujarat.

Bharatsinh Solanki, Gujarat Congress President had said in 2017 that his party would offer a ticket to Hardik if he decides to take the political plunge.
