Yadav kumar Lok Sabha elections 2019
Ahead of the launch of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s autobiography- ‘From Gopalganj to Raisina’, his son quoted his father as having reportedly been approached by Kumar for an alliance, and to join the National Democratic Alliance which the JD(U) is now a part of, and which is lead by the BJP.

Kumar and Yadav had fought the Assembly Elections together in 2015, with Kumar becoming the Chief Minister and Tejashwi Yadav the deputy-CM. However, following the corruption cases against Yadav in 2017, Kumar removed him from the post, and himself resigned, only to receive support from the BJP, who had enough seats to form an alliance government.

Speaking to reporters in Patna, Yadav claimed that he had concrete proof of Kumar’s appeals to reform an alliance, with not only RJD, but also Congress. RJD and Congress have formed an alliance for the upcoming polls in the state, which will be held in six phases.

Yadav stressed on “not allying with Nitish Kumar ever”. Former JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav, who was removed from the party and then formed his own party- the Loktantrik Janata Dal, is fighting on RJD’s ticket in the Madhepura seat, and supported Tejashwi Yadav’s claim, declaring that he too was aware of Kumar wanting to form an alliance with the RJD.
