After Navjot’s wife ,former Union Minister Manish Tewari applies for the candidature in Chandigarh

On Sunday former Union Minister Manish Tewari claimed his interest in contesting Lok Sabha elections from Chandigarh. Tewari sent an application to the President of Chandigarh Territorial Congress Pradeep Chhabra and said he will be contesting elections in 2019 from Chandigarh.

Manish said” I would like to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Chandigarh. I am informed about the applicants for the candidature of Lok Sabha elections from Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee”

Before Manish’s application Navjot Singh Siddhdu’s wife Dr Najvot Kaur Sidhu has claimed her stake for the coming elections, Manish has also decided to participate from Chandigarh.

Manish said ”It is time to improve the condition of Chandigarh and there should be serious look on the maintenance and functioning of government in Chandigarh. We should try and hold an appropriate leader who can run for a long term of 5 years. The Lok Sabha elections should be considered a path to form to elect and form a suitable government in Chandigarh as well in the country.”

Tewari, a national spokesperson of the Congress has decided to join the elections and pleaded to the CTCC (Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee). Former railway minister and senior Congress leader Pawan Kum ar Bansal has also applied for the position.

Bansal has already been a three time MP from the union territory and thus is confident about winning the seat. He said “I know Party’s high command will select me because of my work in Chandigarh.”
